The LAUSD has tried to strong-arm the neighborhood with ever-shifting plans, hurry-up reports and short deadlines. The community clearly has concerns with the project yet the LAUSD, which has a track record of putting schools on toxic cites and building them where they are not needed, is pushing ahead with a major facility just two blocks from the very end of the city of Los Angeles.
It is a very odd choice as the population it serves is miles away.
